The Sports Arena Fields4Kids Outdoor Park

The Sports Arena Fields4Kids Outdoor Park project is well under way. The goal is to host 6-8 outdoor grass fields for soccer community to use. Blackbear United will rent fields from the Fields4Kids organization and utilize for training and games for the 2010 spring season.

CES Engineers, Lane Construction, and Bangor Hydro have helped make this project happen. The first field to be ready for use (by October 2009) will be a U12 field complete with lights. The area is behind the Sports Arena where the tee box was for the old driving range. Jeff Tuenisen completed the site work and survey, Lane Construction, coordinated by Scott Leach, is doing all the ground work, and Gerry Chasse organized the light project with Bango Hydro.

The plan is to have a 78 feet wide x 148 feet long field ready to use for summer training and small-sided games by July 1st. After the project is complete, the field will be 180 feet wide x 240 feet which will host U11 and U12 games, 8v8 adult league games and have two U10 fields lined within the perimeter of the field.
