Community Projects

Blackbear United recognizes the need for our players and staff to give back and help others. Each year the club and teams participate in community service and projects. Community Service and Projects

TOPSoccerTOPSoccer Program - In the fall of 2007, Blackbear United started a TOPSoccer Program for children with physical and mental disabilities. Coaches, players and families helped organize and setup the program. The program was offered for four-weeks with players teaching the game of soccer as the "buddies" of the participants in a fun and inviting atmosphere. Participants ranged in age from 5 - 14.

Each player received a ball, bag, jersey and socks courtesy of Adidas through a grant received through US Youth Soccer. We had such a favorable response that we plan on making the program a mainstay.

Christmas is for kids

Christmas is For Kids Program

Blackbear United sponsored 10 families to help make their Christmas Day one to remember. Families donated toys, items or money to help purchase items on their wish lists. In 2006, we raised over $1,000 to purchase the Christmas presents for the kids. Thank you to all the families who donated, shopped and wrapped the gifts.

Christmas is for Kids™ is a program that provides a happy Christmas to children who would otherwise go without a gift on Christmas Day organized by local radio stations.
