Welcome to the Blackbear United Website
The Blackbear United Football Club is a year-round soccer training program designed to develop players to their greatest potential, focusing on top-quality instruction and exposure to the highest levels of competition. The Blackbear United Football Club consists of 14 teams, including boys and girls teams ages 10 - 18, a youth academy for children ages 4-13, and a TOPSoccer Program for children with physical and mental disabilities. The teams play in premier leagues throughout Maine, participate in highly competitive tournaments in New England and Canada, and send teams to England and host teams from England each year as part of our England Exchange program. Blackbear United has over 250+ players from 52 different towns in Maine and is an Adidas Premier Club (only one in Maine).
As the only Adidas Premier Club in Maine and one of only a handful in New England, Blackbear United proudly wears Adidas. Blackbear United players and families receive discounts on adidas products, receive a $50 gift card each year from Adidas to purchase footwear, and receive member discounts in Club Partner Program with our official supplier - WEGOTSOCCER.com.
Blackbear United offers discounts to local schools, programs and clubs through our Affiliation Program. Programs receive discounts through our club buying power including promotional product to use any way they want.
Blackbear United recognizes that player, uniform and tournament fees can be expensive and that some families may need financial assistance. We offer a scholarship program and countless fundraisers to help make playing with Blackbear United more affordable.

The Maine Tide and Sting players have traveled great distances to make our newest amateur teams successful. There are two ways to help - sponsor a player or hire a player.
Sponsor a Player - Pick the player you'd like to sponsor, meet the player and help support them financially as they help to improve soccer in our area. Most players have traveled here to Maine and must pay for housing and food. All sponsorships will support the housing and living costs. Families that sponsor a player will receive "work" hours from player based on sponsorship level. Work hours can be babysitting, "odd jobs" or 1 on 1 soccer instruction teaching your child individual soccer skills.
Sponsorship Levels
World Cup - $1200 (covers housing costs for summer) - player will work 70 hours throughout summer doing odd jobs, babysitting or soccer instruction
Premier - $800 (covers housing costs for 2 months) - player will work 50 hours throughout summer doing odd jobs, babysitting or soccer instruction
Championship - $400 (covers housing costs for 1 month) - player will work 30 hours throughout summer doing odd jobs, babysitting or soccer instruction
Families who sponsor a player will receive a family season ticket pass for all home games as a thank you for sponsoring a player.
Hire a Player - The Maine Tide and Sting players are looking for work to help support themselves while playing this summer. Most of their days are free to work "odd jobs" with days and some evenings free for babysitting this summer. If you want a
night out a week or want a responsible person watching over your kid(s) or have an "odd job" that needs completed or want individualized personal soccer instruction, then Hire a Player.
Odd jobs include: painting, landscaping, mowing the grass, pool cleaning, washing windows, staining decks, leaf raking etc.
Hourly rate = $10 - 15 hour based on job
To Sponsor or Hire a Player, please contact Cheryl Stokes, the owner of the Maine Tide and Sting at cheryl.atlanticsportsgroup@gmail.com or call at 249-9933.

Spring Bash Recap - Thank you to all the families, friends and players who attended the 3rd Annual Spring Bash from 5-8pm at the Sports Arena in Hermon.
A special thank you to the Sports Arena for hosting the event, to Patsy Oversmith for creating the fundraiser and for organizing the team baskets, to Hal Meyers for being the emcee and keeping the energy alive throughout the auction and raffle, to the sponsors who donated items for our raffle and silent auction (see list below), to the families who donated items for their team baskets and put them together, and to the players and parents who sold raffle tickets for this very important fundraiser.
The Silent Auction was a blast!! Wonderful baskets, 14 in total, were displayed along with additional auction items: Adidas cleats, professional soccer Jersey's, and signed UK goalie gloves and UK signed game tickets. All of which I might add were scooped up for surprisingly low bids. Blackbear attire was also displayed and sold.
Mariko Brown, our team photographer displayed some of her beautiful team photos and additional photgraphic goods such as photo magnets, buttons, player cards, etc.
The players and parents who attended had a great time. In addition to the silent auction players and representatives from the newly formed semi-pro Maine Tide and Sting teams were in attendance. They come from all over the USA and abroad. The three Tide and three Sting players introduced themselves and wandered around talking to all the Blackbear kids. They also signed any inaugural Tide and Sting T-shirts the players purchased.
The raffle which preceded the silent auction offered some fantastic items and the Tide and Sting players drew all the winning names. Numerous sponsors offered gift cards ranging from getaway packages to bus trips, to Tide and Sting season passes, Revolution Game Tickets and Dysarts gift certificates, large cash prizes and two Ipods (shuffle and nano), etc. See the raffle winners below with the sponsored item.
