Fundraisers
Blackbear United recognizes that fundraisers play a key role in helping families defray costs associated with playing premier soccer. Since finances should never play a part in whether a player can play for Blackbear United, we offer some very distinct fundraisers to help reduce overall costs.
Players and families that participate in fundraisers may use the money raised to reduce the cost for player fees, uniform fees, tournament fees and spirit wear. Monies raised from fundraisers will be credited to players individual account.

Maine Tide and Sting Affiliation and Fundraiser
The Maine Sting and The Maine Tide are Maine’s new premier soccer teams that will begin play in May of 2008 at the Boucher Soccer Fields at Husson College. We are very excited to affiliate Blackbear United with these teams since they will bring a high level of soccer and entertainment to Eastern Maine and know that it will help inspire our club players to continue their growth in the sport.
As an affiliate Blackbear United (club becomes an affiliate for FREE) will receive:

As an affiliate, Blackbear United receives the following fundraising opportunities. Fundraising funds are raised through ticket sales.
Family passes (2 adults, 2 children) for all 11 home games is $165.00. For each family pass sold, each player will receive $33.00.
Individual tickets to the games are just $5.00. For every ticket sold by a player receives $1.00 to their account.
Family Passes and tickets will be easy to sell and your potential revenue is tremendous.
Need to raise $45 for the Coastal Challenge tournament fee or $65 for the Needham Tournament – Sell 2 family passes and you receive $66.00 for tournament fees, spirit wear or next year’s fees. Sell 10 family passes and received $330.00

Need a Blackbear United baseball hat – sell 15 individual tickets and it’s yours

Juggle-A-Thon: Each player finds sponsors to donate an amount per juggle. Player practices, then juggles as many as possible on Saturday, January 12th. Player marks down the most consecutive juggles and then collects donation. All proceeds go toward player's account.
Ex. Aunt Sally gives 25 cents per juggle. Player juggles 100 consecutive juggles. 100 x .25 = $25.
Player finds 10 other sponsors to donate the same amount.
$25 x 10=$250 toward player fees, uniform fee, tournament fee or spirit wear.

Championship Website Sponsor - $500 - Company logo and information displayed on home page and sponsor page of website.
Friends of Blackbear United Sponsor - $250 - Company logo and information displayed on sponsor page of website
Ex. Player finds a $1,000 Premier Sponsor and receives $500 toward player fee while remaining sponsorship goes into scholarship fund to help other families.

World Cup - $2,500 (2) - Prominent logo screened on front chest of 250+ training jerseys and prominent logo placement on our every page of our website (over 80 pages)
Team Sponsor - ($1,750): Prominent logo screened on front chest of home and away team jersey of single team and prominent company logo and information on every page of our website (over 85 pages). Average team size is 20. Team sponsorship will be displayed for 3 years on team uniform.
Multiple Team Sponsor - ($3,000 for two teams): Prominent logo screened on front chest of home and away team jersey of two teams and prominent company logo and information on every page of our website (over 85 pages). Average team size is 20. Team sponsorship will be displayed for 3 years on team uniform.

Why Sponsor Blackbear United?
Blackbear United seeks to create partnerships with local businesses and individuals through our website and jersey sponsorship program to help offer scholarships to players in need of financial aid for participation in our program, to help reduce fees for tournaments, and to help support the TOPSoccer Program for children with physical and mental disabilities. By partnering with Blackbear United, your company will receive excellent advertising through our website and/or team jerseys and your tax-deductible donation will make a significant impact by helping local youth soccer players.
Your company information, website and logo will be prominently displayed on our website (www.blackbearunited.com) based on your donation level. In 2007, we received over 76,000 hits with an averaging just over 6,300 hits per month. In 2008, as our club continues to grow, we are averaging over 10,000 hits per month.
The Blackbear United Football Club is a year-round soccer training program designed to develop players to their greatest potential, focusing on top-quality instruction and exposure to the highest levels of competition. The Blackbear United Football Club consists of 14 teams, including boys and girls teams ages 10 - 18, a youth academy for children ages 4-13, and a TOPSoccer Program for children with physical and mental disabilities. The teams play in premier leagues throughout Maine, participate in highly competitive tournaments in New England and Canada, and send teams to England and host teams from England each year as part of our England Exchange program. Blackbear United has over 250+ players from 52 different towns in Maine and is an Adidas Premier Club (only one in Maine).
Blackbear United FC is a nonprofit, federal tax-exempt 501(c) 3 organization dedicated to the promotion and development of youth soccer in Maine.

Spring Raffle and Team Baskets
Blackbear United participates in an annual spring raffle and team basket auction. Each player is asked to sell 10 x $5 tickets and each team creates a team basket for the auction held at our Spring Bash. Any tickets sold by the player over $50 will go directly to player account.
Ex. Billy sells 30 tickets. $50 goes to the club for prizes, scholarship fund etc. with $100 directly into player's account.
Spring Raffle and Team Basket Auction will take place on Saturday, May 10th from 5-8pm at the Sports Arena. If you have not received your raffle tickets, please contact your team administrator. Team Admins will send out information regarding the team baskets. Any parent who would like to help organize the team baskets should contact their team administrator.
All money raised from the spring raffle goes toward scholarship fund. Thank you in advance for participating in our annual spring fundraiser.
Night Out at Miguel's in Bangor
On Monday, April 28th, Miguel's Restaurant in Bangor will conduct a unique fundraiser. All Blackbear families and friends are invited and encouraged to go to dinner at Miguels between 4:00pm and 10:00pm. After paying for dinner, make sure to put your receipt in the Blackbear United basket. Miguel's will donate 15% back to Blackbear United from each receipt put in the Blackbear United basket. We look forward to seeing you on April 28th!!
