Pepino's Academy Program

The Blackbear Academy is geared toward players aged 9-12 who want to learn the game of soccer from a top level coaching staff, and for those in need of high level  training so that they can develop as players. Each training session will focus on individual techniques, small sided games and FUN, FUN, FUN!!

The Academy program will be run under the direction of Seth Brown.  Seth is a United States Soccer Federation "A" license and "Youth" licensed coach.  He has worked with youth players in Maine, North Dakota, Montana and Georgia.  "I am very excited about working with dedicated youth soccer players that are committed to working hard each session and improving the technical skills required to master the game of soccer", stated Seth.

The Academy will serve as an identification program for our developmental teams, future premier players, and is an avenue for young players to learn from top coaches at a relatively young age. The Academy is a training supplement to recreation, travel and school team players who are currently playing on teams. The Academy will teach players of all ages a proven curriculum that is second to none. Simply register to become part of the program.

Each session will include a detailed curriculum and parent education program to better enhance the learning experience of all players. 

There is no tryout necessary.  Once you register you will be contacted by a Blackbear staff member with program information.

WHO IS THE Academy Staff?

The Blackbear Academy offers a top level coaching staff that focuses on teaching the game in a fun learning environment while promoting a healthy lifestyle. The academy staff includes licensed coaches who coach for Blackbear United FC under the direction of Seth Brown who is the new Academy Director of Blackbear United.  Seth holds both a USSF “A”  and "Youth" national license. WHEN IS IT? Blackbear United offers a fall, winter, and spring sessions.  A summer camp will be offered in August. Each session offers weeknight training on Wednesday or Thursdays and a game day on Saturdays. All training and game days are held at the Fields4Kids Indoor Sports Facility located in Bangor, Maine.

Academy Tuition

Full Academy Program $500.00 (November 9 - June 2, includes 4 day summer camp)

Session 1 - Start Date November 9, 2011/End Date January 21, 2012 (8) Weeks

Session 2 - Start Date February 1, 2012/End Date March 31, 2012 (8) Weeks

Session 3 - Start Date April 3, 2012/End Date June 2, 2012 (8) Weeks

Each session costs $175.00 or you can sign up for "Full Academy Program" at the reduced rate of $500.00.  The "Full Academy Program" includes a (4) day Academy Camp form 9am-3pm in August (a $250 value).  All Academy players must purchase the 2011/2012 "Academy" kit for $25.00 which includes Jersey, short and socks.

All training will occur on Wednesdays or Thursdays, Saturday mornings are designated "match play".  Sessions will take place at Fields4Kids indoor facility in Bangor, ME.  Fields4Kids is located behind Beal College and shares the same automobile entrance.  Fields4Kids is located at 129 Farm Rd, Bangor, ME 04401.
