WHAT IS IT?
The Blackbear Academy is geared toward younger players aged 4-10 who want to learn the game of soccer from a top level coaching staff, and for those in need of high level training so that they can develop as players. Each training session will focus on individual techniques, small sided games and FUN, FUN, FUN!!
The Academy will serve as an identification program for our developmental teams, future premier players, and is an avenue for young players to learn from top coaches at a relatively young age. The Academy is a training supplement to recreation, travel and school team players who are currently playing on teams. The Academy will teach players of all ages a proven curriculum that is second to none. Simply register to become part of the program.
Each session will include a detailed curriculum and parent education program to better enhance the learning experience of all players. NEW Fall 2010, Seth Brown has joined Blackbear United as Academy Director. Seth will participate in every Academy Session working with players and parents.
WHO IS THE Academy Staff?
The Blackbear Academy offers a top level coaching staff that focuses on teaching the game in a fun learning environment while promoting a healthy lifestyle. The academy staff includes licensed coaches who coach for Blackbear United FC under the direction of Seth Brown who is the new Academy Director of Blackbear United. Seth holds both a USSF “A” and "Youth" national license. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity to learn from Eastern Maine’s best coaching staff.
WHEN IS IT? Blackbear United offers a fall, winter, and spring sessions. A summer session will be offered in August. Each session offers weeknight training on Wednesday or Thursdays and a game day on Saturdays. All training and game days are held at the Fields4Kids Indoor Sports Facility located in Bangor, Maine.
Academy Schedule
Youth Academy training is offered following times:
Wednesday Evenings - Academy - 4:30pm - 5:30pm: Ages 4, 5 & 6 and 7, 8 & 9
Wednesday Evenings - Classic Academy - 5:30pm - 7:00pm: 10,11 & 12 Girls
Thursday Evenings - Classic Academy -5:30pm - 7:00pm: 10, 11 & 12 Boys
Youth Academy game days are on Saturday mornings: 9:00am - 12:00pm
2010/2011 Session Dates:
Fall - ages 4-8 begin 10/6/10, ages 9-12 begin 10/7/10
Winter - ages 4-8 begin 1/5/11, ages 9-12 begin 1/6/11
Spring - ages 4-8 begin 3/9/11, ages 9-12 begin 3/10/11
Summer session August 2011 date - TBD
Academy Tuition
1st Session Attending - $165.00/player, includes Adidas shorts, socks and shirt.
2nd Session Attending - $125.00/player
3rd Session Attending - $125.00/player
August Session - $125 per player
