Blackbear Ladies Class of 2006

Fourteen members of the U-18 Girls team graduated from high school in June and will continue their education at various institutions across the country this fall.

Two players will pursue post-graduate/prep school study. Katie Bergeron, a graduate of Old Town High School, will attend the Taft School in Watertown, CT. Kari Havenvik graduated from John Bapst High School and will complete one additional year of studies in her home country before attending university.

Pennsylvania colleges were the choices of three Blackbear players. Jessie Roberts of Bangor will attend Mercyhurst College in Erie, PA to major in intelligence studies. Lila Maycock of Belfast will pursue environmental studies at Haverford College. Hampden Academy graduate Nori Francis-Mezger will attend Clarion University in Clarion, PA. All three ladies plan to play collegiate soccer.

Hamdpen Academy graduates Annaliese Lafayette and Jenna Shue will remain in the northeast to attend Cornell University and Dartmouth College respectively. Brenna Crothers of MDI plans to continue her academic and swimming career at Wheaton College in Norton, MA. John Bapst alumnus Megan Pritham will matriculate at Boston University.

Five players will attend school within the University of Maine system. Sam Mathieu of Belfast plans to major in business at the University of Southern Maine and play soccer for the Huskies. Presque Isle graduates Katie DeLong and Kylan Smith will be roommates at the University of Maine at Orono, studying animal/veterinary science and athletic training respectively. Both ladies are on the UMaine soccer team. Cait Cross will also attend the University of Maine at Orono to major in biochemistry/pre-med. Rozlyn Petersen participated in training for the Air National Guard this summer and will continue her studies at the University of Maine at Orono.
