Sports ArenaThe 3, 4, 5 Rule Applied to the Lining of the New SportsArena Fields4Kids Outdoor Soccer Field - On Friday afternoon AUGUST 7TH, 2009 – around 1:30 PM – the 3, 4, 5 rule was applied as lines were drawn on the New Fields4Kids outdoor field adjacent to the Sports Arena facility. This geometric principal simplifies and allows one to create perfect right angles (or near perfect angles) necessary to draw brand new lines on the freshly mowed blank grassy surface, creating our first outdoor field for small sided games and practices.

The 78 foot wide x 148 foot long field took about one and a half hours to lay out and line (paint) under the steady hands of Joe Kacer, Cheryl Stokes and Josh & Hal Meyers with strategic, off-site, wireless guidance by MJ Ball. We also wish to thank Len Cole who was present throughout the lining process for his generous assistance and support of our Fields4Kids outdoor and indoor projects, and Lane Construction for their ground work/construction services.

Soccer Community … Now that the Fields4Kids Indoor Sports Facility is up and running and nearly weatherized, the Fields4Kids Outdoor sports facility project is well underway. The current field will be extended, seeded and ready for the fall practices and games. The goal is to create a full-size U12 field with 2 small sided fields for games and practices for the soccer community.

As we continue to receive donations and in kind services from the community, more playing surface area will magically appear in the very near future allowing us to offer a high quality field with lights and true grass extending the time for local teams to train.

Now that the lines are in place it should be a relatively simple task to keep them updated very so often. So if you are familiar with this process, or would like to participate in field line maintenance/clean-up, would like to make a donation, or advertise, please contact MJ Ball at mjball@fields4kids.org or 991-8940.

Blackbear United players and families receive discounts on adidas products, receive incentives each year to purchase footwear, and receive member discounts in Club Partner Program with our official supplier - WEGOTSOCCER.com.

Blackbear United offers discounts to local schools, programs and clubs through our Affiliation Program. Programs receive discounts through our club buying power including promotional product to use any way they want.
